Alex Ogus, a commecial director, moved into his Toronto loft and couldn't find a floor lamp to his taste. He decided to design his own and the reaction from friends and family was so strong he put the lamp into production. Ogus wanted a lamp made unlike anything he had seen before. The materials and construction had to be the best.
    The result is a precision machined base of solid aircraft aluminum with an internal recessed flush mounted halogen bulb.  The frosted glass shade can be positioned horizontally or vertically. The glass has polished edges and a coated surface. Available in frosted or black glass.  Replacement glass shades are also available. 
    As a final design, each unit has its own serial number to verify its authenticity. The ogusdesign studio lamp is featured in the September 2005 issue of Azure and Style at Home magazine.
