Is your website secure?
Yes!  garbo utilizes the latest technology for shopping and ecommerce security.  All orders are transmitted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology.  All of your personal information including your credit card information and sign-in password are stored in encrypted format at all times.  This website and all user information is further protected by a multilayer firewall based security system.  Visa and Mastercard also take significant security measures to protect your information.  We use the same level of protection used by banks and financial institutions.  We do not store credit card information on our web servers.  Once an order is placed, the credit card number is immediately masked and cannot be fully accessed even by us.  As you can see, we want you to be fully confident when ordering from our website. 

Is it safe to use my credit card over the internet?
Yes!  We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your credit card information as it is transmitted to us.  SSL is the gold standard in Internet encryption technology, which is a fancy way of saying that it's a highly sophisticated method of scrambling data as it travels from your computer to our website's servers.  We accept orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via our secure web site.

How can I check to make sure my connection is secure?

Look at the lower left-hand corner of your browser window after accessing the server. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser), then SSL is active and the server is secure. You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from "http" to "https."

Will I be taxed?
A 6.5% sales tax is applied to all orders shipped to Illinois and 4.75% to all orders shipped to Utah.  The amount is calculated and itemized during the online ordering process. No sales tax will be applied to orders shipped to addresses in all other states.

How do I know if an item is in/out of stock?
Because we are selling these items online, it is sometimes difficult to ensure stock availability.  You may email us at
support@garbocontemporaryfurniture.com at any time to ensure stock availability.  If an item is out of stock we can provide you with an estimated delivery date.

Can I cancel my order?
Yes!  Orders can be canceled if they have not already shipped.  You have 24 hours to cancel an order.  Please contact us at
support@garbocontemporaryfurniture.com.  There is no fee to cancel an order.  Cancellations are not allowed once an item has shipped.  Refer to our return policy below for items that have shipped.

Can I return my item(s)?
Yes!  If you are unsatisfied for any reason you can return your item(s) with a 17% restocking fee (on select items) plus shipping both ways to our warehouse within 5 days of receipt of the item(s).  We will gladly refund your money after the item(s) are received back into our warehouse, and in new condition.  You must contact us first by email at
support@garbocontemporaryfurniture.com before you return your item(s) to receive a refund authorization from us.  Upon receipt of returned merchandise, we will refund the purchase price minus the 17% restocking fee and shipping fees.  If you paid by credit card, the refund will be credited back to the original card, and if you paid with a money order, the refund will be sent to you via check.  We would like to stress that we want happy customers!

How much does shipping cost?
We always offer FREE SHIPPING to all of our customers on all of our products.  We use FedEx Ground for our smaller pieces of furniture and provide a tracking number for you to track your order.  Our larger pieces are shipped via freight carrier (threshold delivery), with a tracking number provided, who will contact you by phone to arrange for a final delivery time.  We can keep you updated regularly on the status of your order.

What is freight shipping?
Certain items available on garbo are required to be shipped via a 3rd party freight carrier rather than standard carriers because they are too heavy or require special handling.  If your purchase is being delivered via Freight service, you will be contacted by the Freight company via telephone 1-2 days prior to delivery to schedule a delivery appointment.  You will need to be present to sign for the item.  All items shipped via Freight are brought inside the threshold only. Unless "White Glove" is specified, freight shipping does not include "White Glove" service, assembly, installation or delivery inside a residence or office.  Freight carriers do offer in-home or in-office delivery for an additional charge.  Please inquire with us or directly with the shipping company when the Freight company contacts you.  For any questions regarding Freight Delivery, please contact us via email at support@garbocontemporaryfurniture.com.  Please include your order number in all communications.

What is "White Glove" delivery service?

These items are delivered into your business or residence, assembled (if necessary) and all packaging is removed.  Please let us know when you order if this is the service you would prefer. 

Do you offer any Warranties on your products?
Yes!  We offer a 30 day warranty on select products against defects in the manufacturing and/or failure of its component materials.

Can you send me color swatches?
Yes!  Color swatches do vary on different computer screens so if you are unsure of the color, please request a color swatch prior to ordering which we will mail for free. 

What is your damage policy?
It is your responsibility to inspect your order when it arrives to make sure that it is what you ordered and that the item(s) are undamaged.  Our furniture is packaged in bags and custom made box containers, but in rare circumstances, a product might suffer some damage during the shipping process.  Please note any damage to your order immediately upon arrival by noting it on the Bill of Lading and refusing delivery of the defective item by our carrier.  Accept all other undamaged items.  We ask that you contact us within 48 hours to report any damage.  We will file a damage claim with the shipper, and ship a replacement of the item(s) as soon as possible at no charge.  We may also require you to send some photos of the damaged product.

How long will it take to receive my order?
As soon as you place an order, it is sent to our warehouse immediately.  In-stock items ship in 3-5 days, and generally take between 7-10 days to arrive via FedEx and 10-14 days via our freight carrier.  Out of stock merchandise can be expected to arrive in 4-8 weeks.  Our made-to-order furniture can be expected to arrive in about 8-10 weeks.  We can update you regularly on the status of your order.

How do you keep your prices so low?
Because a lot of our furniture is made-to-order, as well as no overhead, this allows us to avoid the expense of keeping a large inventory, so we can provide you with a price well below what you would expect to pay elsewhere.  As you have already noticed, contemporary style furniture doesn't come cheap.  Here at garbo we are offering the latest in designer style furniture at the lowest possible prices found anywhere.  We are confident that you will find our value and quality indisputable.  Finally, a place to find the sleek designer furniture you have been looking for, without paying the big bucks.

Do you have a Low Price Guarantee?
Yes!  We are dedicated in offering you furniture at the most affordable prices.  If for some reason you are able to find one of our products offered online for less than our total price (product cost + shipping cost), let us know and we will gladly match that price for you or refund the difference (if you find the price within 7 days after purchase)!

Terms and Conditions:

  • The comparison applies to authorized retailers in the continental U.S. that have the identical product in-stock and the product is priced accurately. Auctions or auction sites are NOT included.
  • Comparisons must include the product price (including prices for custom finish, materials, upholstery, etc.) plus shipping costs.

Tell me more about your made-to-order furniture.
Our made-to-order furniture allows you to customize your item(s) to the exact color and configuration that is right for you.  Offering made-to-order furniture also allows us to offer more fabric and color selections as well as different configurations.  All of our fabric sofas are custom built just for you, and you may also request a full leather upgrade on some of our leather pieces as well for an additional charge.  Unlike others, these are not mass produced and our expert furniture makers hand make each piece to your exact color and configuration.  All of our sectionals are either symmetric or available in the reverse configuration of what is pictured.  All you have to do is specify the color, fabric, and configuration on select models and we do the rest!  We require payment in full once your order has been placed.  Refer to our return policy above regarding canceling a custom made order.

What type of leather do you use?
We use top grain Italian leather on all of our leather items.  The leather is a perfect balance between durability and softness.  To help keep your price low, the backs and some of the sides of our sofas and sectionals are made from a matching "leather match" (soft vinyl), but can be upgraded to all leather for an additional charge.  The leather has already been permanently preserved in the tanning process, but a monthly wiping with a warm damp cloth will prevent body oils and dust from building up.

What is Microfiber?
Microfiber is also known as Microsuede, Faux Suede, and DuraPella.  It is a synthetic fiber made of nylon that is 1/100th the width of a human hair.  It is very soft and comfortable like suede, yet for a fraction of the cost.  Microfiber is naturally stain resistant and no stain protection is required nor recommended.  Spills will simply wipe off easily, which makes it great for any household.  Our Microfiber sofas are by far the most popular choice with our customers.  We offer 29 different colors which is a huge selection compared to other companies.  Microfiber can be spot cleaned using soap and water, and dry or steam cleaned.  The quality of our custom made sofas is unmatched.

What are my payment options?
We accept Paypal, online credit card payments using Visa or Mastercard, and Money Orders.  You can safely enter your credit card number via our secure server, which encrypts all submitted information via SSL.  Please remember the address in the "bill to" section of the order form must be the same as on file with your credit card company.
